Reflections

This year in term 1 we had a fantastic year. We went to cricket interschools. We had no placing for cricket. Our school went to swimming as well. Some of the kids went to swimming and did well.

In term 2 we were supposed to have rugby but it was raining on all the game days and we didn’t have it. We also had our speeches. I got elected for the speeches. We celebrated the Olympics happening in London England.

Term 3 was probably my favourite term because we had the most sports and events in it. In football the year sevens came a tie for first place with panmure bridge. Some people made it in cross country. That was the term we got our netbooks.

Term 4 was a cool term as well. We went to interschool touch and came second in it. In our school athletics I came first in the 400 meters and second for the other sprints. For the interschool sprints I came third for the one hundred and forth for the four hundred meters. Our culture group concert is happening tomorrow and our prize giving is on Thursday.

Our netbooks helped us in a lot of ways. We could always do our research in class instead of going to the I.C.T room. We are so lucky to have our netbooks. We would like to thank the Maniakalani programme for doing this for us.

Art and Music center

Wow do you want to have a art and music center.  Because on the 6th of September, Archimedia people came and talk to us about our the art and music center.  Vanessa from Auckland city council supported the archimedia people.  Debby the landscaper showed where the location of the place would be.  Jo the sustainability officer job is to make sure that the place would last for a long time.  Lindsey which has did the most of the work came and gave us a little about of the the art and music center.  We had to help them by writing some ideas for them to get.  At the end Britney said thank you for their time for coming and spending their time speaking about the art and music center.

Speech Day

We have been learning to write and present our speeches. We had to persuade the audience to think our way. The Olympics was our theme.
The criteria we had to use to write and present our speech included, an introduction, delivery, content and our conclusion. In your introduction you should put strong words straight away because if you don't the reader might not want to carry on reading. In my introduction I got shy when I was talking.  I think I could have done better with my introduction.

My delivery was alright but I should have scanned the room. I couldn't speak with confidence and I wished I could do it better.  I didn't know my words by heart and thats why I think I got lower points.  Some of my words were powerful and only a mature audience knew what those words meant, I had some facts to back up my statements. My speech was between 2:30 and 2:40 minutes.

In my conclusion I wrapped my speech up and I thanked my audience for listening me. I think I did alright for myself.  I'm actully quite proud of myself for getting up in front of our whole school and reading my speech out to them.  I am just glad that time is over.

So SHY

                                                            SO SHY

Today I had to read my speech out to my class.
When I was talking my voice was a little bit cracky.
I was hoping it would be finished quicker.
My time was only 1minute and 50 seconds.
It had to be 3 minutes
I WORKED so hard and it was only that long.
It just means I have to do a little more better.

Hi TC, well isn't this amazing. Room 12 is global. The technology that we are using is the latest and I think we are pretty fortunate to be able to use it in the classroom as an extension to our learning.
